Drone Use in Public Safety

Faster Response.
Safer Operations.
Smarter Decisions.

Drone technology for first responders, emergency management, and law enforcement — when every second counts.

How Can Nine Ten Drones Help You?

We have experience working with public safety agencies of varying size and experience levels.

Our team can help you start your program from the ground up, working with you to get Part 107 certified, develop a Flight Operations Manual and Training Plan as well as help you select the right hardware(drone) and software needed to support the lifesaving operations of your organization.

Increasingly, that includes Drone as First Responder (DFR) programs, where agencies launch an aircraft immediately after a 911 call to get eyes on scene before units arrive. We help you evaluate whether DFR fits your airspace, staffing, and budget, and build the operational and regulatory foundation needed to run it safely.

If your program is already established we can help support your future hardware and software solution needs while providing additional educational and technical support for you and your team.

Real Life Partner Stories

"Lessons Learned: Drones & Wind"

Sgt. Rick Smith, UAS Program Manager with Antioch Police Department in California provides a walkthrough on how the Antioch PD leveraged a drone to keep surveil a stolen vehicle and confirm when the suspect had in fact returned and direct units to close in for the apprehension and arrest.

Outcome: Suspect vehicle tracked and confirmed on return, allowing units to close in and make the apprehension safely.

"Foot Pursuit"

Sgt. Rick Smith, UAS Program Manager with Antioch Police Department in California gives a walk through on how he leveraged a drone to maintain eyes on a suspect during a foot pursuit. With the drone in the air Sgt. Smith could communicate the suspects position at all times without putting officers in harms way.

Outcome: Officers tracked the suspect’s exact position in real time throughout the pursuit without exposing personnel to direct risk.

"Building Interior Search"

Sgt. Rick Smith, UAS Program Manager with Antioch Police Department in California gives a walk through on how the Antioch PD UAS team was able to clear the interior of a local gas station after a reported break in. Unable to send in the K9 unit the drone provided a valuable solution

Outcome: Building cleared for occupants in minutes without deploying a K9 unit, keeping officers out of an unknown interior.

"Shots Fired"

Sgt. Rick Smith, UAS Program Manager with Antioch Police Department in California provides a walk through on how the Antioch PD UAS team leveraged an $1,500 drone to gain the upper ground while responding to a call of shots fired within a residential neighborhood.

Outcome: A single $1,500 drone gave responding officers aerial awareness of a residential shots-fired scene, improving safety and situational control.
