About Us

Nine Ten Drones, LLC was founded in late 2017 to bring professional, hands-on drone services to North Carolina’s growing UAS community. We’re a veteran-owned company working with public safety agencies, schools, contractors, and utilities across the state — helping teams build drone programs from the ground up, add aerial data to their existing workflows, and get hands-on training on the equipment they fly.

Our Team

Paul Rossi

Paul Rossi
CO-FOUNDER / STRATEGIC ADVISOR

A U.S. Army aviation veteran and instrument-rated pilot, Paul was among the first FAA-qualified Part 135 UAS Check Airmen in the nation. He serves as Director of Safety & Development for Causey Aviation Unmanned and holds a Master’s in Space Operations from Embry-Riddle. Paul co-founded Nine Ten Drones and now guides its safety culture and strategic direction.

LR
Lauren Rossi
CO-FOUNDER / OPERATIONS MANAGER

Lauren has been part of Nine Ten Drones since day one. She now runs day-to-day operations — keeping projects, scheduling, and client communication running smoothly so the rest of the team can focus on flying.

VV
Valerie Veauthier
CHIEF PILOT / FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR

Valerie is a certified remote pilot who got her start in college, operating drones to capture game film for the football program. That hands-on experience grew into a career — she now oversees flight operations and leads training for Nine Ten Drones’ pilots and instructors.

Government & Public Safety Contracting

Nine Ten Drones is a North Carolina unmanned aircraft systems company providing UAS sales, training, mapping and program support since 2017. Our counter-UAS practice serves two distinct markets: Nine Ten Airspace Awareness, a managed airspace awareness service for private facilities using radar, Remote Identification reception, electro-optical and acoustic sensing; and counter-UAS advisory for public safety and correctional agencies — threat and vulnerability assessment, grant positioning, policy and operational plan authorship, operator training and readiness sustainment. We do not operate counter-UAS systems on behalf of any agency, and we do not compete to supply equipment for federally funded procurements for which we authored the requirements.

As a veteran-owned business, we’re built to meet the registration, insurance, and certification standards that come with serving government and public safety agencies.
